NICK CARTER ALSO DEALS WITH WEIGHT ISSUES.UPDATED:3-27 NICK THANGS Nick's style is pretty down-to-earth. Let's face it, he would look good in a garbage sacj, so he doesn't really have to try too hard. His blond hair is one aspect of his appearance that does tend to change from month to month-for ages it was long and floppy, then it gradually got ahorter and he is currently wearing it messed-up with white blond highlights. Nick says he aims for an image that is as normal as possible so that fans can relate to him-anything classic with a sporty or preppie twist and Nick is happy. Many people might think that the youngest BSB member Nick Carter, has evrything. I mean after all he is rich, he is in the biggest international group in this history, but that might not be enough for Nick Carter. Nick wants a flat tummy. "I have always hated my stomach......I've got my dad's stomach. Mr. Carter admitts that when he Has time off and nothing to do he sometimes over eats. "I end up playing video games, watching t.v. and over eating," says Nick. This is bad for Nick Carter, because it has fans asking, "HAS NICK GOTTEN FAT!" "Sometimes people comment on how I look, like I've gained weight, which hurts," Nick admits. Well he might needs to do some sit-ups every once in a while, but he is still one of the cutest BSB members. Also its his voice that matters not his looks. SINCE NICK CARTER TURN 21 ON JANUARY 28, 2001, AND NOW AS YOU CAN SEE HE'S SIMPLY GETTING BETTER LOOKING WITH EVERY DAY THAT PASSESS. HE'S CHANGED IN SO MANY WAYS SINCE HE JOINED BSB ALL THOSE MANY YEARS AGO-HE WAS ONLY TWELVE WHEN HE HOOKED UP WITH KEVIN, HOWIE, BRIAN AND AJ TO FORM WHAT WOULD BECOME THE MOST SUCCESSFUL POP GROUP OF THIS GENERATION! BUT NICK'S DONE MORE THAN CHANGE PHYSICALLY. HIS MIND AND HIS OPINIONS WITH HIM RECENTLY, AND DISCOVERED THAT THE NICK CARTER OF 2001 IS A BRAND NEW MAN! *NICK has a competely grown-up way of looking at life-he doesn't regret anything that's happened to him, but he's definitely learned from his mistakes. "I'm happy and I'm having fun in my life," says Nick. "But I've learned things...there were a couple of mistakes and wrong choices I've made. But it's good I've made them early and got them over with!" *Although Nick is almost a mature 21-year-old, he admits he's much closer to his family now, and he spends more time with them than ever. "I have a house next door to my family," says NICK. "We live out in the water-we spends time together, and we enjoy the outdoors and the ocean." *NICK often thinks about reaching out and helping others, and using his fame for good work. In fact, he has this really cool idea of about a second job. I'd love to be in the U.s. Coast guard," says nick. "I'd love to take care of people...I think that's something that might be cool, to help save lives. Who knows...maybe I can still do it!" *During the past year, NICK has seen two of his best friends-KEVIN RICHARDSON and BRIAN LITTRELL-get married, and although he's not planning to marry anytime soon, the weddings have made him realize that life is always evolving and changing. "I learned last year that things can't always stay the same," he says. "Life is inevitable, and people grow up and chagne...it's hard to accept sometimes, but things just don't stay the same." *Even though Nick is not a natural daredevil (he says he'll never do anything outragous bungee jumping or shy diving), he has had a few adventures in the past year, and he admitts they've scared him a little. "Shark diving isn't really a crazy thing for me he says with a smile. "My friends and I were swimming in Florida, and hammerhead sharks went swiming right by us. But you get used to that! It's no big deal!" *You might think Nick's gotten used to being idolized by fans, but that's something he never takes for granted! "Sometimes it's embarrassing, the lengths fans go to meet you," he says. "But it's flattering too. I live on the water in Tampa in a gated community that's surrounded by water, and I've had fans swim to the house! And first of all, Tampa Bay is probably one of the # 1 places for sharks in America! But that's how far someone will go to try and meet me. And then when they meet me, they cry! It's crazy, but it's flattering, you know!" FROM J-14'S MARCH 2001 ISSUE GET A PERSONAL TOUR OF NICK'S PAD NICK greets you with his sexy smile and a Windexed cloth in hand. See, he's spent the past few hours tidying up his Tampa,Fl home in preparation for your vist. He quickly cleans off the countertop and shoves a box of Cookie Crisp cereal back in the kitchen cabitnet while his four pugs run excitedly around the house(even they're happy to see you!). Although he describes himself as a "modern-day hermit" when not on tour, Nick still has trouble keeping out of the public eye. Young girls somehow manage to get his unlisted phone number. Sauntering around his home, the 21-year-old BSB prouldy shows off his prized possessions: the BLACK PROWLER in the garage, the pool table in the living room, the 5x5-foot television that Jive Records gave him and the glass case full of Beanie Babies (many given to him by his fans). Upstairs, his bedroom is scattered with round neon sculptures, which reflect in the mirror behind the bed. Plus, there's a 6-foot, clear plastic palm tree filled with water and tiny orange bubbles. It will blow you away! Before you leave, Nick shares with you how he relaxes and enjoys his little piece of heaven: peering out at the Atlantic Ocean from his dining room (he has an absolutely breathtaking view). FROM THE MILLENNIUM SCRAPBOOK BY. LAUREN ALISON FROM THE TIME HE WAS A TODDLER, NICK WAS AN ENTERTAINER. His family gladly tells tales of their baby boy, wearing only diapers, bustin' a move on the dance floor of a club his grandfather owned. In the fourth grade, the showbiz bug bit when Nick landed the lead in a local production of PHANTOM OF THE OPERA. He entered lots of talent shows, and remembers one in which he tried an impersonation of elvis-leg shake and all! "I HAD TO TRY," he told LIVE AND KICKING magazine. "I'm not really a dancer though. You gotta remember, I was really young when I started doing that stuff." But he was doing something right and was soon the featured vocalist at the TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS PRE-GAME SHOWS. This NFL gig lasted two years, and then when NICK was twelve, he won top prize on the 1992 NEW ORIGINAL AMATEUR HOUR TV SHOW. LOCAL COMMERICAL gigs came quickly after that, and NICK kept busy performing and auditioning at TAMPA nad ORLANDO events. Even though he was only in junior high school at the time, Nick made friends with two older guys he kept running into at the same gigs-AJ MCLEAN and HOWIE DOROUGH. The three started harmonizing together as a way to pass the time during the long waits at auditions and performances. Today, of course, 21 year old Nick is a full-fledged member of the BACKSTREET BOYS, and living on his own. But don't try to FIND NICK'S ADDRESS. He already had to move once because he was tired of being hounded by fans. And boy, do fans run after him! Even though he's the "supposed" heartthrob of the group, NICK is surprisingly shy. "I'm a very queit person," NICK told TEEN. "I consider myself a modern-day hermit. I'm happy if I'm in my hotel room just chillin'."
