FROM J-14 MAGAZINE!UPDATED:MARCH 16, 2001! AARON! I HAVE A SONG CALLED 'TELL ME WHAT YOU WANT,' AND IT'S PRETTY MUCH A LOVE BALLAD AND EXPLAINS ABOUT GIVING PEOPLE A CHANCE. IT'S ABOUT PEOPLE WHO BREAK UP AND GET BACK TOGETHER, BUT STILL DON'T HAVE A GREAT RELATIONSHIP. THE WORDS ARE VERY COMPLICATED AND I'M NOT SURE I EVEN UNDERSTAND EVERYTHING THE SONG IS SAYING, BUT I KNOW I'VE GONE THROUGH IT....MANY TIMES!" AARON CARTER REVEALS HIS SECRET CRUSH! JAWS DROPPED and gasps were heard when AARON CARTER planted a big kiss on actress Hilary Duff-again and again. It was all for an upcoming episode of HILARY'S HIT DISNEY CHANNEL SERIES LIZZIE MCGUIRE. As written in the script, Aaron was supposed to kiss Hilary on the cheek under some mistle-toe, but the pop star had some fun with the scene and went right for the lips! "Of course, okay! He's really cute!" Hilary told us. "It was fun, but a little embarrassing with everyone watching...and a camera," giggles the 13-year-old actress, who considers this her first screen kiss(she's not counting her Casper the Ghost in the movie CASPER MEETS WENDY). At least Aaron was a gentleman and prepared for the big moment: "He was like, 'I just ate CHAPSTICK!" she reveals. Aaron played it cool, not even appearing nervous as he made his acting debut playing himself. As part of the episode, which airs MARCH 23, Aaron shoots a choreographed vido for his song "I WANT CANDY." But it's the kiss (which they shot five times!) that he'll always remember. "After the first couple of times, it was pretty good," Aaron jokes. "I'm a big fan of Hilary's and i wanted to be on the show because of her," admits the 13-year-old singer, who met the actress when she came to his surpise birthday party in Decmber. "I like her. She's a really nice person. She's cool to hang with and to chat with. Basically what I look for in a girl is personality." Apparently, Aaron's pal Frankie Muniz (MALCOLM IN THE MIDDLE) thinks so, too;he reportedly has been crushin' on Hilary as well. She may just be the luckiest teen around! Aaron is putting the finishing touches on a new album and has let the LIZZIE producers know he'd like to work with Hilary again. Could an on screen romance develop between LIZZIE and AARON, while Hilary and Aaron get to know each other off screen? That sounds like a great idea! AARON CARTER Teeny popper Aaron Carter is the newest Who. No, the younger brother of Backstreet Boy Nick Carter won't be joining Roger Daltrey, Pete Townshend and John Entwistle on their umpteenth reunion tour. Instead, he's headed for the Great White Way as JoJo Who, a character in "Seussical the Musical." The 13-year-old singer's Broadway run begins April 4 and lasts through May 6. He'll co-star in the play with Cathy Rigby (the Cat in the Hat), Kevin Chamberlin (Horton), Janien La Manna (Gertrude) and Michelle Pawk (Mayzie). Performances of "Seussical the Musical," which debuted in November, are held nightly Wednesday through Saturday, with additional matinee recitals held on Wednesday and Saturday, and two shows on Sunday. UPDATED FEB 22, 2001 FROM J-14'S MARCH 2001 ISSUE! AARON CARTER BRACES FOR A SHAQ ATTACK When you see AARON CARTER'S new video "HOW I BEAT SHAQ," you'll see Aaron surrounded by lots of supportive friends as he schools basketball star Shaquille O' Neal in a one-on-one showdown. But, are those Aaron's real friends or just hired hands? Is that actually Shaq in the video or just a LOOK-ALIKE? J-14 found out how Aaron's video went from casting call to the final cut. The first step in finding the right people for a video invovles what industry call a "breakdown." Producers for the video drafetd a report for the casting director detailing the types of people they wanted to see with Aaron. The casting director then sent the break down to a service that alerts casting agenices about the several parts that are available in the productions. "They were looking for great-looking-young ladies and guys that looked like they could be really good friends with Aaron," the casting director, Twinkie, tells J-14. She said that they also needed kids who were "very professional, but articulate and fun." Twinkie finally found kids to lay the parts of Aaron's five close friends for the video by holding an open casting call a few days before the shoot. JIVE RECORDS, Aaron's label, wanted the video to have a cross-cultural feel (like a Benetton ad), so Twinkie made sure to cast people of different ethic backgrounds. She also found a "mom type" to play Aaron's mother. Of course, she also had to book the real Shaquille O' Neal so the video would be authentic. On the day of the video shoot, things went smoothly. Director Bernard Gourley had never put together a pop music video before, but he made it seem as if he was a specialist in the field. In fact, things went so well on the set that Aaron made friends with the originally hired to be his pretend friends! In-between scenes, Aaron talked to the other kids, signed autographs and took pictures. "All the kids were very happy to meet him," says Twinkie. Since most of the people who were in the video took off from school to hang with Aaron, there were tutors on the set to make sure everybody made time for homework. Making a video isn't all work and no play! There was plenty of time to horse around when the camares weren't rolling. Since the director asked the extras to bring razor scooters and skateboards,Aaron and his gang had fun riding around the Los Angeles playground where the shoot took place. Shaq wanted to get in on the action, but he was too big for those scooters! When the day was done, the extras were paid $t5 for their work, recieved lunch boxes to take with them... and an experience they won't soon forget! AARON'S ALL RIGHT! LIKE A BOLT OF LIGHT OUTTA' THE BLUE, HERE COMES AARON CARTER! YOU'VE KNOWN HIM FOR A LONG TIME-BUT YA' NEVER LOVED HIM LIKE THIS BEFORE! ALTHOUGH AARON'S BEEN world famous for over three years now (the nice people in Europe have loved him for a while!!) he's only recently become the prince of pop music in the US. But with his huge hit album, Aaron's Party (COME GET IT), sweetie-pie Aaron is now a national phenom-and you couldn't be happier! NEITHER COULD AARON, who's having a total blast traveling and meeting his fans. When you meet Aaron, you'll be swept away by his sparkling personality-and you'd never know that he was once a super-duper shy guy! "A long time ago, when I was in school, I used to be very shy," he says. "When they called on me, I'd be really shy and talk quietly-my voice would be quiet. But I got over that, and now I love to talk!" TO TALK, TO SING AND TO ACT! Aaron's always happy when he gets the chance tp perform for his fans, but he's also interested in pursuing an acting career-on TV or in the movies! "I've done some screen tests and things, for movies and for sitcoms," says the talent cutie-patootie. "Right now, I'm focused on my music, and i love singing a lot. But I would love to do all kinds of things-they were talking about doing a sitcom for me that would be like The Monkees How Cool Would That Be? WHETHER HE'S ACTING, singing or just standing there, looking cute, there's no doubt you can't get enough of Aaron-in fact, he's absolutely all you want for the holidays! And Aaron feels the same way about you-believe it! "My fans are awesome," he says with a gratful smile. "They get so excited when they see me, and that's a little wierd bit it's so much fun. I hope to get a chance to meet every single one of my fans!" AARON'S BEST CHRISTMAS! TWO YEARS AGO, Aaron had the bestest Christmas ever-when his parents gave him his Weimaraner puppy, Oscar. "He was in a pet store in Pennsylvania, and I was recording in Union Town," Aaron explains. "We always used to go into this pet store to look at dogs, and finally I said, 'Mom, I want that dog!' And two years ago for Christmas, I got him!"
